Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is dragon boating?

Dragon boating is a team paddling sport in a very long and narrow canoe-style boat. A standard crew is made up of up to 20 paddlers facing forward, a drummer at the front of the boat facing the paddlers, and a sweep at the rear of the boat for steering.

For competition events, dragon boats are typically fitted with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails.

How much does it cost to join?

Because of the diversity of our team, DBSA fees range from $47.70 to $127.70 to cover registration, insurance, and use of DBSA equipment, and facilities. Unlike other teams, there are no additional Dragon Fly club fees.

And don't forget, you can come and try four free paddles with us before you join.
